I am a science communicator who wants to craft effective strategies that inform and connect the people with our environment…and I’ve had a bit of a winding path to get there! I’m currently the Marketing and Communications Program Coordinator for the Department of Soil, Water and Environmental Science. This means a lot of things… but basically I’m working with faculty and staff to find the best way we can talk about the awesome science we do and classes we teach. The biggest project right now is working on our new and improved website and videos that showcase faculty and students!
Before this I was a digital content producer and social media editor at the Wilderness Society, a public lands advocacy nonprofit in Washington, D.C. I also spent a year at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration for a fellowship program. That was after I received my M.S. in Freshwater Systems and Technology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where studied and published a paper in nutrient cycling of invasive mussels in Lake Michigan.
