My name is Beca Gardner is the and I am a third year undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science as well as Molecular and Cellular Biology within the University of Arizona’s Honors College. Additionally, I am pursuing two minors in Biochemistry and Astronomy. I work in Dr. Helena Morrison’s ischemic stroke lab within the College of Nursing and my research investigates morphological changes in microglia in response to brain injury such as ischemic stroke. I am apart of the Environmental Health Sciences-Transformative Research Undergraduate Experience(EHS-True) program within Undergraduate Biological Research Program (UBRP). I am involved on campus as Vice President of Outreach for the Women in STEM Student Council (WiSSC). In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and amy kind of dog I can find!
