Hi everyone! My name is Lauren Wilson and I am a senior undergraduate at the University of Arizona, studying Molecular & Cellular Biology and Biochemistry. I have been working in Dr. Ross Buchan’s lab for a little over a year, and I am very passionate about the research I do there! We are interested in the life and regulation of messenger RNA, my favorite biomolecule. My project involves looking at the levels of mRNA in the cell, how these levels change when the cell is exposed to stress, and the mechanisms that allow them to respond that way. When I am not in the lab growing yeast for experiments (or dressing up as a yeast cell for a parade), I enjoy playing video games, building sci-fi model kits, and taking photographs of insects.
