My name is Logan Porrazzo and I am a senior at the University of Arizona. I am currently a triple major studying general biology, plant sciences, and Italian. I first got into research at the end of my sophomore year when I started helping a grad student in the Bronstein lab with her research on leaf cutter bees. I still help with this research, but I also have my own project where I am working under my Beckman mentor Joanna Masel in her lab. My research involves simulating evolution of DNA sequences over thousands of generations and then calculating the pN/pS of the collection of sequences. Ultimately, I want to know if pN/pS in population genetics is a useful measurement in all ways it is currently used. Along with research, I am also a desk assistant and resident assistant at the University. After I graduate, I hope to attend graduate school to receive a PhD in zoology or wildlife ecology. In my free time I love to play board games with friends, explore the city, and learn new things about any subject!
