Tariq Alqahtani is a 3rd year PhD student pursuing a degree in Pharmacology/Toxicology and Cancer drug development at the University of Arizona. Prior to coming to the U of A, Tariq was teaching Pharmacology and Toxicology courses in Saudi Arabia at KSAU-HS. At the University of Arizona, he is currently working on testing the ability of small molecules to target different type of cancer such as medullary thyroid carcinoma, breast cancer and pancreatic cancer. Also, he works on repurposing drugs to treat certain tumors. Tariq has always had love for science and hope one day to eradicate all cancers. Tariq earned his B.S in Pharmaceutical sciences in Saudi Arabia then he pursued his Ms in Pharmacology and Biophysics from Ohio state. Beside working in the lab, he enjoys teaching, learning about other cultures and playing/watching soccer. Also, he likes creating content to increase awareness about cancer and other disease in his country (in Arabic).
