Hi everyone! My name is Dorsey Kaufmann and I am an artist and information designer. I got my Bachelor’s degree in Design and minor in Dance from the University of Nebraska. I am currently getting my Master’s in Illustration and Design and also working in Dr. Ramirez’s Integrated Environmental Science and Health Risk Laboratory. Our lab works with local Arizona communities that are home to hazardous waste sites to test the health of their harvested rainwater, soil and plants. My role is to communicate participant chemical concentrations from the samples they submit through data visualizations and art installations. I’m interested in using art and design to speak about the many factors that impact environmental data-sets and how these factors affect people’s body, health and environment.
