Tania Rodríguez completed a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Mexico. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Environmental Engineering with dual minor in Atmospheric Chemistry and Geographic Information Systems at the University of Arizona. Tania’s research focuses on transport, size-distribution, and chemical content of airborne pollution from mining operations at a Superfund Site in Southern Arizona. She has been working in the Superfund Research Dust Lab under Dr. Saez and Dr. Betterton supervision for the past 3 years
She worked in air quality issues for the Secretariat of the Environment Government of Baja California, Mexico for 6 years, where she has the opportunity to participate in the Imperial – Mexicali Air Quality Task Force meetings with U.S Environmental Protection Agency, California Air Resource Board and Imperial County Air Pollution Control District. As a result of her past work, she got interested in pursuing a PhD to understand better the interactions of present contaminants in the atmosphere and their effects in human health and the environment.
